About Lucas
Lucas grew up in Kelowna, spending every summer he can remember on Okanagan Lake. Whether it was learning to waterski as a kid, wakeboarding through his teens, or spending long evenings out on the water with friends, the lake was always home base. That connection to the water never left him.
After years of working on the water and guiding trips across the Okanagan, Lucas decided to do things properly and started OKGN Boat Rentals from the ground up. The idea was simple: give people access to a real lake experience, with someone at the helm who actually knows what they're doing. No tourist traps, no shortcuts, just a genuinely good day on the water.
Lucas is a Transport Canada SVOP-certified (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency) captain and has logged thousands of hours on Okanagan Lake across every condition the summer can throw at it. He knows the best spots for calm wakesurfing, where to go for the smoothest water in the morning, which coves are worth anchoring in for a swim, and how to keep a group of 12 people having the time of their lives from start to finish.
What sets Lucas apart as a captain is that he genuinely enjoys the job. He's the kind of person who remembers your name, figures out what kind of day you're after, and makes it happen. Birthday groups, bachelorette parties, corporate outings, families with young kids, he's done it all and knows how to read the room.
When he's not on the water running charters, you'll find him working on the boats, planning the next season, or out early in the morning wakesurfing before the lake gets busy. He built OKGN Boat Rentals to be the kind of company he'd want to book himself, and that standard shows in every trip.
