Cancellation & Weather Policy

At OKGN Boat Rentals, your safety and your experience on the water are top priorities. We use a safety-first approach and a fairness-first approach. Because boats are held exclusively for your reservation, the policy below applies to all bookings.

Payment and General Cancellations

• Full payment: Full payment — the whole rental amount — is required at the time of booking to secure your specific boat, date, and departure time.
• More than 14 days before departure: You receive a full refund of your payment to your original payment method.
• Within 14 days (but more than 7 days) of departure: A $150 booking fee is forfeited; the remainder of your payment is refunded.
• Within 7 days of departure: 50% of the total amount paid is forfeited; the remaining 50% is refunded.

All refunds are processed through Stripe back to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few business days for the refund to appear.

Weather and Safety (Captain's Call)

The decision to cancel, delay, or cut short a rental due to weather or water conditions is made by OKGN staff at the dock in real time at the scheduled departure time.

• Real-time conditions only: We do not cancel based only on forecast apps.
• Unsafe weather examples: Lightning, high winds, or large white caps that are actively present or imminent.
• Not qualifying by itself: Overcast skies, cooler temperatures, or light drizzle.

If we cancel due to unsafe conditions, you may choose:

• A 100% refund of your payment, or
• A $190 rental credit (an extra $40 in value).

Business Booking Errors

If we must cancel or adjust your reservation due to an internal booking, maintenance, or scheduling conflict on our end, you may choose:

• A 100% refund of your payment, or
• A $200 rental credit (an extra $50 in value).

Rental Credit Terms

Promotional rental credits ($190 weather credit or $200 booking-error credit) are non-refundable, cannot be converted to cash or card refunds, and must be used before the end of the following summer operating season or they are forfeited.
